Face baking is a relatively new term and many are confused about its meaning. To Bake Your Face, you add a translucent powder on your face to sit. That will set your foundation and concealer. After you dust off the face, the powder should blend in!
To start baking, you will need the following;
1. Moisturizing cream. It can be any cream you typically use or foam or anything like that. The most important part is to ensure that the skin is moisturized and smooth.
2. Foundation. The first layer is the most important as baking won’t cover any imperfections your foundation didn’t. Use a good foundation that will even out your complexion.
3. Concealer is something you don’t want to forget. It will not only minimize dark circles and imperfections of the skin but also prepare you for baking.
4. Makeup Sponge
5. Fluffly Big Makeup Brush
6. Translucent Setting Powder. The powder can also be barely tinted. It will give your face the final preparation for baking.
7. Setting Spray
This technique doesn’t require much skill. The trend is everywhere today but it’s known for a long time within the drag community. Today, it’s adopted by celebrities and many makeup artists.
1. Before you start with ‘baking’, you need to do the preparations. That means face cream, liquid foundation, and concealer, or whatever you use. A full coverage base is essential to get good results.
2. Now, here comes the dry setting powder that will even out your foundation and concealer. It is the last step before you begin to bake.
3. It’s time to begin baking. Put it on the areas you want to highlight, like a triangle under your eyes, between your eyes and forehead and chin. Apply a generous amount and just let it sit while you do the makeup on the rest of your face. After 5-10 minutes, brush it off with a big soft brush.
4. To finish with your makeup, you can add a highlighter and blush. This will enhance your contouring. If you need more help, check the videos below.
