Malva pudding is origin sweet pudding from South Africa. However, this pudding has a caramelized structure and it contains apricot jam.
Usually, it is purred with cream sauce while is hot. As a matter of fact, you can find it in almost every South African restaurant. Or even you can make it by yourself. This pudding become popular in America after Oprah Winfrey chef served for the Christmas dinner in 2006.
Ingredients:
* 30 ml butter
* 250 g sugar
* 2 eggs
* 30 ml vinegar
* 10 g bicarbonate of soda
* 60 g apricot jam
* 500 g cake flour
* 250 ml milk a pinch of salt sauce
* 500 ml milk
* 375 ml boiling water
* 375 g sugar
* 60 ml butter
* 45 ml vanilla essence
Cooking instructions
For this recipe, you need about 50 – 55 minutes. And for sure everyone will enjoy the sweet treat.
Before you start to mix all ingredients together turn on the oven to 180° C. And most important is to grease the dish with oil or something that pudding doesn’t get stick to the dish. Now you can start to mix ingredients.
First, you need to mix butter, sugar, and eggs. And in the second dish mix the vinegar, bicarbonate of soda and add this in the jam.
So, now you can put flour in the bowl and add a mix of butter, sugar, and eggs and at the end, you need to add mix whit the jam.
And in the end, you need to add milk and salt so you can form a batter.
When you prepare all this, you can put it to the oven and bake for 55 minutes.
In the meantime, you need to make a sauce. Put all the ingredients in the small saucepan and cook it. When the pudding is over you need to pour the sauce over it.
This combination is going ideal with ice cream or custard.
